~Mommy I'm so sorry for breaking this old vase
The flower's were so pretty but the vase just slipped away
And it fell right off the table and right on to the floor
Mommy I'm so sorry it wasn't meant at all
So Im standing in this corner wishing you will see
How sorry that I am for what I truly didn't mean
I know you always told not to touch the vase
But I couldn't help but do it and Spot was in my way
And you see he really knows it cause he's standing next to me
Knowing what he started ~ he's sorry too you see
I love him so with all my heart and he always will be here
Even when I'm punished he'll be standing with me near
So please forgive me Mommy my heart is really sad
Cause of all the things you treasured this vase was all you had
A present from your Mommy when you were very small
And it hurts me now so deeply that I touched the vase at all
And so when I am grown up and as good as I can be
I'll buy a new vase Mommy a gift you'll get from me
And then when I am older and this vase is handed down
I will tell my children always the lesson that was taught
