When I just arrived
It sits upon my mantelpiece
The love never subsides
I look upon my Mother's face
I see all love reside
It shines so bright within my heart
It wells me up inside
I feel the warmth of her always
The way she held me close
It's that feeling that never goes
The one I treasure most
I wish that she were here with me
So I can tell her so
But years have passed and so it goes
The memories do grow
The sun shined on her brightly then
It always made her glow
If this is just a dream of her
My love just won't let go
I do see how she loved me
So finally I know
Mother gave me all her heart
Tenderly it showed
So I keep this picture in my mind
Feel her warmest glow
That's the memory I always feel
As years do pass so slow
This portrait of my Mother
When she held me oh so tight
Will bring the sweetest memories
When I think of her tonight.~
